Safety and Regulations

The safety of our skaters is one of our main concerns as a club. Any questions surrounding the following rules can be directed to the executive board. To skate at Ingall’s during YCFSC icetime, all club members must:

  • Fill out the Yale Club Sports Code of Conduct form online.
  • Fill out the Assumption of Risk, Release from Liability and Indemnification form online.
  • Abide by the following safety regulations agreed upon by the executive board of the club:
  1. Any skater borrowing skates from the club that were obtained prior to 2019 should not attempt any toe jumps beyond a single toe-loop. Skates purchased after this date do not have this same limitation due to higher equipment quality.
  2. If a skater is uncertain of how to attempt a certain freestyle element that is potentially dangerous (i.e. a jump for which they have not yet recieved formal instruction), they must ask either a team captain or the coach for assistance, if they are present.
  3. If a skater is injured during practice, or another skater witnesses an injury, they must immediately notify the captain(s) present so that proper treatment can be arranged.
